How We Actually Teach This

Financial statement analysis isn't just about knowing ratios. It's pattern recognition mixed with healthy skepticism. Here's what makes our approach different from typical finance training.

Case-Based Learning

You'll work through real company statements from Philippine businesses. Some successful, some that failed. Your job is to figure out which is which before we tell you.

Question Everything

Companies present numbers in ways that make them look good. We teach you to read footnotes, compare reporting methods, and ask why certain details are buried on page 47.

Practical Application

Every concept connects to decisions you'll actually make. Should you invest? Extend credit? Partner with this company? Theory matters when it helps you decide.

Beyond the Standard Curriculum

Traditional finance education focuses heavily on calculation. You can learn formulas anywhere. What's harder to teach is judgment.

Our programs emphasize interpretation over computation. When two companies have similar ratios but vastly different risk profiles, what are you noticing? When revenue grows but cash flow doesn't follow, what questions should that trigger?

  • Recognize reporting red flags before they become obvious
  • Compare companies across different industries fairly
  • Understand what auditor language really means
  • Build frameworks for consistent analysis
Roderick Salazar, Lead Instructor

Roderick Salazar

Lead Instructor

I've been analyzing financial statements since 2010. Started in credit assessment, moved to investment analysis, spent time consulting for firms trying to understand their own numbers better.

The thing about financial analysis is that it's easier to be confidently wrong than carefully uncertain. I've made plenty of both kinds of calls. Teaching gives me a chance to share what those experiences taught me.

My background includes work with manufacturing firms, retail operations, and service businesses across Metro Manila and Cebu. Different industries have different tells when something's off.
